Located half-way between Cannes and St Tropez, Frejus is an ancient city and harbour founded by the Phocean and then later the Romans under Julius Caesar (“Forum Julii” at the time). Of course nowadays, it is difficult to see how Fréjus used to be a large merchant city, after centuries of raids.
The town is very modern, offers a lot of open spaces, and a variety of attractions for holiday makers, located right in what is known as the Massif de l’Estérel. Unlike other parts of the area, visitors will notice the roads in Fréjus look newer and well thought of. This is due to the Malpasset Dam disaster, in 1959, when a dam broke and let the Reyran river sweep part of the town away.
The marina (which is not the antique port) has a total of 710 berths with for yachts up to 30 m LOA and the depth varies from 2 to 3.5 m. An inland extension of the marina is currently under way. When these works are finished there should be more of the smaller sized berths available for visitors.

Port de la Rague is located between Mandelieu and Theoule sur Mer. It is one of the most charming marinas of this coast, famous for its old railway viaduct. To the East lies the beautiful bay of Cannes with Iles de Lerins and to the West you will find the famous red rock coastline of the Mediterranean. Marina Baie des Anges owes its name to its location, right in the middle of the famous Baie des Anges (Bay of Angels) which stretches from Villefrance-sur-Mer to Juan-les-Pins, including coastal towns such as Nice, Cagnes-sur-Mer and of course, Antibes.
Marina Baie des Anges is part of Villeneuve-Loubet but in many ways, it feels like a town of its own. The typical wave or mountain shaped pyramidal buildings close off this marina from the rest of the town and the railway. These buildings also make this marina one of the most conspicuous along this popular Mediterranean coastline. The originality of this typical 1970s holiday apartment complex divided the public opinion at the time and still does today.
The main man behind this amazing marina project is Jean Marchand. The concession for the port was granted in 1970, thus granting marina shareholders the right to use berths until 2020 (for 50 years). All moorings are well sheltered, thanks to the buildings and to the Cap d’Antibes, with the exception of the few smaller berths on the end of the outer Jetty, which can be slightly uncomfortable during winter storms.
There are 474 berths in the marina, the largest one being on a dedicated quay and with the capacity to moor 35 m to 40 m yachts. When mooring in Marina Baie des Anges, most of the supplies and services you need are already onsite, a few paces from your berth. There is a variety of ship chandlers, restaurants, a newsagent, decorators and of course boat brokerages, and estate agents.
The marina also has its own shipyard which is also frequently used by boat manufacturers throughout Europe for launching new boats on the Côte d’Azur, as it has the shipyard is particularly accessible to lorries and trucks.

Marines de Cogolin lies at the heart of the Gulf of St Tropez, immediately South of the Giscle river estuary and Port Grimaud. It is not to be confused with Port Cogolin, adjacent to the marina but much smaller port, which is further up the Giscle and is home to a few boats up to 15 meters in length overall. Marines de Cogolin is much larger, with more than 1,500 berths, comparable in size to its neighbour, Port Grimaud, and offers a choice of holiday apartments overlooking the harbour. If you are looking to keep your boat or yacht on a berth in the Gulf of St Tropez, you will stand much better chances to find one there than in Port Grimaud, you need to own a property to keep a small boat (the larger berths being run by the public harbour, overwhelmed with demand). Securing a berth in the port of St Tropez itself will be even more challenging, which is why Marines de Cogolin remains a key spot to base a boat or yacht on the Riviera. It is also good place to stop and explore the area with up to 270 visitor berths.
Marines de Cogolin, being also a residential area, has a wide variety of shops, restaurants and services (including the Monaco Marine shipyard) to attend to boat owners’ needs.
Though the marina is huge, there are few berths over 17.5 m in size. There are in fact only 19 berths of 25 and 30 meters (only four 30 meter berths), which represents 1% of all the berths.

Port Camille Rayon in Golfe Juan is a very popular marina of the Côte d’Azur, lying in the Eastern part of the famous Bay of Cannes. The marina is just a short 10 – 15 minute drive along the coast away from the Croisette of Cannes. It is adjacent to the Golfe Juan marina, to the West of the “Quai d’Honneur” or “Quai Napoléon”, which is a public marina and accommodates smaller boats.
Golfe Juan is a French locality which does not have the administrative status of a town. It is part of Vallauris, which some consider a suburb of Cannes. This part of the Côte d’Azur is very residential. Many yacht owners have a villa in the surrounding upper hills making Port Camille Rayon the ideal location to moor permanently. Just East of Golfe Juan is Juan-les-Pins on the Cap d’Antibes, famous for its beautiful villas.
Port Camille Rayon has berths for up to 833 boats on fixed or floating quays with dimensions going from 6 meters to 75 meters length overall. The depth varies in the port from 5 meters to 2 meters.
Mooring your yacht (or boat) in Port Camille Rayon allows you to cruise to lovely destinations within an hour, such as Cannes of course, but also the Lérins Islands (îles de Lérins), a group of 4 islands, of which the main two are Sainte Marguerite, open to the public and past home of the Man in the Iron Mask, and the smaller Saint Honorat, which has been a monastery since the 19th century and welcomes a few visitors at specific times of the year (so please avoid topless sunbathing and making noise whilst anchoring close to that particular island!).
Golfe Juan is also famous for being the site where Napoleon chose to land on 28th February 1815 to reconquer France. Some of the local shops and monuments are there to remind you this important fact for French history.
As its name indicates it, the marina was built by Camille Rayon, famous Resistance hero during World War II, helping the allies by coordinating local efforts to disrupt operations along the Southern Coast of France. After the war, Camille ran a restaurant in nearby Antibes and then had a vision of the South of France nowadays, with more marinas. Being close to De Gaulle and the authorities, he played a major role in building facilities for larger vessels in the 1960s and 1970s. He is probably the man who can claim to have built more berths and moorings than anyone else, with over 74 marinas, including some of the largest port facilities destined to the mega yachts in Antibes’s Port Vauban (IYCA or “Quai des milliardaires”/Billionaires’ Quay).

Port Cap d’Ail is often thought to be one of Monaco’s harbours. This is probably due to its proximity to the principality and the fact it is an extension of the reclaimed land and Monaco district of Fontvieille. Cap d’Ail harbour is in France, right on the Western border of Monaco, so much that the only way to drive into the marina is through the principality.
Cap d’Ail harbour is a charming alternative for most Monaco residents to its neighbouring saturated ports of Fontvieille and Port Hercules. The harbour was originally designed to moor boats from 6 m to 20 m Length overall. Through the years the outer basin was rearranged to tend to the needs of larger yachts. This basin was renamed “Bassin d’Honneur” and is now the home of superyachts, with 50 m, 55 m and 60 m berths. This contrasts with rest of the berths in the port, which are mostly for boats up to 20 m in length. Since Cap d’Ail is an extension of the land Monaco reclaimed on the sea in the 1970s, the depth in the harbour is substantial compared to most French Riviera ports which in most cases only can provide up to 3.5 m depth. Berths in the Bassin d’Honneur have 20 m depth.
Cap d’Ail harbour has a range of port facilities to satisfy most boat and yacht owners. It has a fuelling quay next to the Capitainerie at the entrance, a ship chandler, two hotels, restaurants, and of course the Navimarine shipyard. For food and provisioning, the Monaco shopping centre is just a 5 minute walk away.
Cap d’Ail harbour is currently implementing new CUNCA directives which affect berth ownership rights. This requires a little more caution than usual when acquiring the right to use a berth. For advice and any further information, just call Mr. Berth.

When speaking of private marinas on the Côte d’Azur, you cannot get more private than Port La Galère, just South of the Pointe de l’Aiguille, at the Western extremity of the Bay of Cannes, on “Pointe de la Galère” (hence the name). The road entrance to the marina is far from conspicuous. There is a guard at the entrance.
Port La Galère was originally constructed as part of the luxurious apartment complex of the same name. The marina is consequently one of the safest you in this popular area of the South of France. When staying on your yacht in this harbour, the only people you will meet will be your neighbours and their guests. People with wealth and looking for privacy will find all they need there. Once you own a property or a berth in Port La Galère, you become part of very select club or group of friends. In addition, the location is beautiful. The honeycomb apartment complex has been designed not to clash with the Esterel red granite landscape. This is one of the rare and beautiful small homeports where it is still possible to buy berths.
Port La Galère has an average total of 185 berths, of which 20 are kept for visitors by the marina’s entrance. This number can change, as unlike other marinas, berth owners can sell to each other part of the width of their stern-to moorings. The maximum length is 14 m.

Cap Ferrat is one of the most exclusive locations in the Côte d’Azur. Cap Ferrat is the geographical name for that famous cape shaped like someone’s hand, but the name of the town and its marina is Saint Jean Cap Ferrat. The reasons why this area of the Cote d’Azur is so demanded are the beauty of the site, the scenery which is not overly built up (unlike some parts of that coast) and the luxurious villas and residences in St Jean Cap Ferrat itself but also in nearby Villefranche sur Mer and Beaulieu sur Mer.
Saint Jean Cap Ferrat also owes its reputation to the various celebrities who have chosen to reside there in the past and at present. Among them there is of course Beatrice Ephrussi de Rothschild whose villa is now a national museum, but also Leopold II of Belgium, Sir Winston Churchill and David Niven. The list goes on, and we will not mention on this website any of the famous individuals who are currently known to have an address in Saint Jean Cap Ferrat.
Another reason we believe Port Saint Jean Cap Ferrat is so popular is the fact it is itself more of a destination than a homeport. Every summer, you will see a fleet of yachts great and small anchoring off the Pointe de Saint Hospice (the thumb of the Cap Ferrat hand) which also provides good shelter from Westerly winds.
The marina has capacity of 560 berths with the largest moorings being 28 m x 7.81 m (this width must include space for fenders).

Port Vauban is renowned throughout the sailing world as a place where super yachts gather. Europe’s largest harbour is home to more than 100 berths over the 23-metre in length, with some of these berths accommodating 165 m yachts. This is unique on this highly sought after coast of France. Antibes itself has long since joined the premier league of yachting destinations, with its superb restaurants, café’s and festivals. Port Vauban is surrounded by boating facilities of every kind. Berthing is alongside and stern-to and there is an on-site heliport, just by the “Billionaire’s quay”
Port Vauban with the old town of Antibes is a very attractive marina for yacht and boat owners to have a base. It is one of largest private and public marina along the Cote d’Azur, it is easily accessible from Nice Airport by road and the Bay of Cannes is just on the other side of the Cap d’Antibes.
In addition, Port Vauban has always been a harbour. You can feel the history along these walls and that life has always revolved around the harbour. Since as early as 500 BC, Antibes was used by Phocean merchants (Greek) as a base for their trade routes. The name of Antibes is derived from “Antipolis”, which means “the town on the other side” as this harbour mirrored the one of Nice, which could be seen on the other side of the Baie des Anges (Bay of Angels). This marina has considerable historical heritages, such as Fort Vauban or the “Square Fort” from the XVIIth Century.
Port Vauban, partly due to its size, is administratively composed of 3 moral entities which are the SAPA, the SAEM, and the IYCA (Billionaires’ Quay). Though these companies, which form the port, are managed by the same marina staff, there are slight differences in the terms of “berth ownership status”, or more precisely the ways you can acquire a Right to Use a berth.
